Broadband Parametric Impedance Matching for Small Antennas Using the Bode-Fano Limit: Improving on Chu’s limit for loaded small antennas

چکیده

In this work, a parametric up-converter amplifier is introduced as wideband impedance-matching network. Chu’s limit restricts the minimum Q-factor of unloaded small antennas. However, practical bandwidth (BW) antennas defined by their loaded Q-factor. By connecting antenna to an with real input impedance that several times greater than radiation resistance antenna, we propose increasing return loss, which leads reduction in and increase BW. addition, used because, comparison transistor amplifiers, it offers low-noise characteristics. The gain compensates for loss due imposed mismatch. Our simulation result shows BW improvements up 32 can be accomplished trading 2 dB noise figure (NF), compared 15 suggested lossy antenna.

Impedance Matching for RFID Tag Antennas

Passive UHF RFID tag consists of a microchip attached to an antenna. Proper impedance match between the antenna and the chip is crucial in RFID tag design. It directly influences RFID tag performance characteristics such as the read range. It is known that an RFID microchip is a nonlinear load whose complex impedance varies with the frequency and the input power. We investigate the effect of us...

Small Antennas for High Frequencies

 When an alternating electric current flows through a conductor (wire), Electric-E and Magnetic-H fields are created around the conductor.  If the length of the conductor is very short compared to a wavelength (<< λ/4), the electric and magnetic fields will decrease dramatically within a distance of one or two wavelengths.  However, as the conductor is lengthened, the intensity of the fields...

Developments of a Novel Impedance Matching Circuit for Electrically Small Antennas

Abstract. In order to reduce the size of a wireless system, we have proposed the design formulas for an electrically small antenna (ESA), i.e. an antenna whose dimension is much smaller than a wavelength, with a miniaturized matching circuit which connects to a 50ohm external circuit. We designed a slot dipole antenna with the aid of the simulations using the electrical circuits as well as the ...

Electrically Small Antennas with Miniaturized Impedance Matching Circuits for Semiconductor Amplifiers

In order to reduce the size of a wireless system, we propose a design theory for the broadband impedance matching circuit which connects an electrically small antenna (ESA) to a semiconductor amplifier. We confirmed its validity for the case of connection between a small slot loop antenna with a small radiation resistance of Ra = 0.776Ω and a semiconductor amplifier with high input impedance of...

SMALL ANTENNAS Basic Principles of Electrically Small Antennas

E lectrically small antennas have been an important part of communications engineering since the beginning. Whether they are small compared to the extremely long wavelengths used at the lowest radio frequencies, or intended to save space in GHz-range wireless devices, the basic principles are the same. This tutorial will review those principles, with primary attention to describing the performa...
